About Our School District & Community
Manchester Township is located in Ocean County, NJ. The majority of our housing is located in large retirement communities, with 50% of our residents age 65 or older. The per capita household income of our residents is $36,455 (2020 Census).
The Manchester Township School District has three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school serving approximately 2,900 students in grades K-12, plus special education Pre-School. The district also manages the state-funded Regional Day School in nearby Jackson, NJ.
Approximately 33% of the district’s students qualify for the Federal free and reduced lunch program. The district faces many funding challenges, among them a state funding formula that gives Manchester only 10% of their funding from the state, well below the average.
